Preservation is the cleaning and packaging of your treasured wedding gown using View Cleaners 4-step process and following our storage guidelines to “preserve the moment” for years to come. It is highly recommended to clean your wedding dress soon after your big day to avoid further settling of stains in the fabric.
First, a picture of your gown is taken. Then, the garment is analyzed for potential problems and current conditions. Next, a care method is prescribed for that individual garment based on its condition and the guidelines provided in its care label. The gown is then hand-carried through each of the next three steps.
The gown is individually cleaned as prescribed by the inspection process to remove all soils and contaminants to the best of our ability.
We have three cleaning systems available for every type of wedding gown made to date.
Even if the care label in your gown requires spot cleaning, we have skilled technicians using the latest methods to service your priceless wedding gown.
Your gown is then pressed by hand under careful supervision. No machines are used on your delicate wedding dress.

Then, your gown is wrapped in acid free tissue paper and placed in an acid-free interior box. This box is wrapped in plastic and then placed in an exterior box. The exterior box will be wrapped in plastic for shipping.
Your gown will be shipped via UPS to any street address in the United States you designate. The gown will be insured for the amount you specify as its worth for a small additional charge.
Your gown should be stored at 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit with a humidity level of 55%. You must keep your gown away from excess heat and moisture, as it will affect the dyes, turning the gown yellow over time.
Ideally, you should store your gown in a closet or under a bed. Do not store it in attics or basements.
A pair of white cotton gloves is provided for you to use when you wish to view your gown. The gown must be repackaged exactly as it was taken out. Skipping any one of these steps might damage the gown.
Lifetime Guarantee – We will re-clean your gown at no charge should discoloration of the fabric appear in years to come. No questions asked.
You may return your gown in its original container accompanied by the original invoice at any time. We are happy to redo a gown at no additional charge unless we feel the process will further damage the fabric.
